Newsletter 5/8/14

Dear Participants,

The “heat is on“ with respect to preparing for H.H. the Dalai Lama’s visit. We have compiled essential visitor information in this newsletter and in the next one.

Arrival on Sunday

The international bicycle race, "Cyclassics“ will take place in Hamburg on Sunday, 24 Aug. Several streets of the inner city will be blocked off for cars, busses, bicyclists and pedestrians! Please consider this aspect timewise.
We have compiled important information for you on our website for your journey to CCH on the Sunday.

Walkers and crutches

Those who have booked a regular seat and are attending the event using walkers and/or crutches, please register this via email at info(at)dalailama-hamburg(dot)de as this allows us to allocate sufficient stowage space. Thank you for your cooperation.

Market place

You are invited to visit the info stands and other booths at the market place in CCH prior to and subsequent to main events, as well as during the breaks. Here you can purchase books, seat cushions and devotional objects, as well as audio and video recordings of the Dalai Lama’s sessions. Furthermore, the Tibetan Center will have a booth and provide advice on-site.

Exhibition “Distressed Nomads“

In cooperation with the regional group of Tibet Initiative Germany, the Hamburger Ethnological Museum (Völkerkundemuseum) will have an exhibition on Tibetan Nomads from 17-23 August. They will provide information about “forced settlements” and threats to this traditional lifestyle.

Best wishes,

Christof Spitz
