Nuns have a central position in Korean Buddhism. The two speakers give an account of far-reaching occurrences in the history of Korean Buddhism. They present outstanding personalities of Korea and establish a relationship to the first women in the order of the Buddha.
The importance of women in Korean Buddhism today and the vital force which women exercise in Korea today shall stimulate encouragement of female spirituality in Buddhism worldwide.
