In his teachings from July 23 to 27, HH the Dalai Lama will comment on the Buddhist classic "The 400 Verses concerning the Practices on the Way to Enlightenment" by the Indian Master Aryadeva (2nd century).

This text is among the most important works of Mahayana Buddhism philosophy and practice. Aryadeva was a direct disciple of the great Buddhist philosopher Nagarjuna.

His most important work "The 400 verses" provides instructions for the path to enlightenment which is achieved by overcoming afflicting emotions, by developing compassion, and by insight into the ultimate reality.

This text not only contains profound instructions for spiritual exercise and meditation, but expounds the core of Buddhist thinking and enlightenment with great clarity.
